Indie Dyer

Adella Colvin

Adella Colvin is an African American-Latina indie dyer and owner of the LolaBean Yarn Co. based in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

Having first learned to crochet, knitting soon followed and she was inspired to try yarn dyeing after seeing a video on YouTube. With this new, natural talent came a real passion for creating beautiful and unique works of art and it was the encouragement of friends and family that led her to start her own business.

Adella prides herself in connecting with her customers on a personal level and, beyond simply running a business, it matters that her customers are truly satisfied with their purchases. She believes that altruism, social justice and entrepreneurship all go hand in hand and through LolaBean Yarn Co. takes every possible opportunity to give back to the community: both on and offline.

As an indie dyer, and businesswoman one of her most important goals is to change the misconceptions that POC don't exist in the fibre world and she feels strongly that diversity and inclusion makes us all better.
