Crochet Designer, Fiber/Textile Artist, Indie Dyer, Spinner, Tutor

Alexander Reynoso

Alexander Reynoso is a native of Harlem, New York, USA and was born to Dominican/ Puerto Rican parents. He's a self-taught crochet designer, machine knitter, tutor, podcaster, ceramicist and indie dyer who runs an online fibre business, Alex Creates.

At 13 years old he taught himself to crochet using a combination of YouTube tutorials and books, and in 2011 he quickly turned this new passion into a business by opening an Etsy shop and vending at street fairs.

Currently studying ceramics at Kingsborough Community College, New York, he continues to run his fibre business from his New York apartment which is a hub of creativity with all yarn and hand knits created in his NYC home. Most of the wool in the shop is milled, grown and of course dyed in the US and his colourways are inspired by Latinx foods, gods and music.

Alex's crochet designs, which bring together streetwear and futurism are available in PDF format from his pattern store on Ravelry.
