Amirisu
Originally launched in 2012 as an online and print magazine, Amirisu was established as a company in 2014 by Meri Tanaka and Tokuko Ochiaiwe.
Based in Kyoto, the heart of Japanese textile industry, the two started the magazine with an aspiration to modernise and revitalise the Japanese knitting industry. The brand now publishes a twice yearly magazine in both Japanese and English and has a wide network of global distributors. In addition to publishing and running an annual retreat in Nasu, Japan the company also owns Walnut; two bricks and mortar yarn shops, stocking a range of yarns, fabric, books and haberdashery.
The magazine is available in both digital and print form the website and some individual patterns can be found in the Amirisu Pattern Store on Ravelry.
