Elba Alonso de Ortega

Elba Alonso de Ortega is a Mexican immigrant, raised in a suburb of Los Angeles who produces sock tubes under the name Totally Tubular Sock Tubes.

She became a little obsessed with circular sock machines after watching an episode of the Grocery Girls podcast where a CSM was mentioned and, when she couldn't find anyone local to her making sock tubes, saw an opportunity to offer a service. She now takes her 'tube cranking' service to local yarn shops producing tubes for customers to add their own heels and toes when turning into socks or alternatively making into scarves or gloves. She also sells her products through her shop on Etsy for those who can't get to her events in person.
