Hand Knit Designer, Machine Knitter, Weaver, Yarn Retailer

Lucinda Iglesias

Lucinda Iglesias is a hand knit designer, machine knitter, weaver and yarn retailer.

While she grew up in New Orleans, alternate summers were spent with her mother's family in Guatemala‚ where she fell in love with the colour of traditional textiles‚ and her father's family in Salamanca, Spain where architectural motifs of the city's historical buildings left a strong impression on her.

Now living in Sutton, Quebec, Canada she works as a freelance designer and together with husband Gilles Barbeau, she runs local yarn store Mont Tricot. The store offers a wide selection of yarns, books, kits, workshops and supplies for both knitters and weavers.

Away from the store Lucinda is an avid designer who brings the colour and texture drawn from her family summers into her accessory and garment designs. Additionally she's found that living in the country and current world events, provide her with even more inspiration for crafting. Her most recent designs 'The Social Distancing Wrap' and 'Le Gros Câlin' (The Big Hug) join a portfolio that includes designs for Artyarns, Illimani Yarns, Shibui Knits, Julie Asselin and dLana.

You'll find Lucinda's patterns in her Ravelry Pattern Store and at MontTricot.com which has its own dedicated online shop.
