Shikira Alleyne-Samuel

Craft tutor and textile designer Shikira Alleyne-Samuel is a multi skilled crafter whose work is continually evolving.

Having studied for a BA in Printed Textiles & Surface Design she then worked in mainstream education as an Art and Design Technician and Teacher before starting her business Kreative Pursuit about 4 years ago. More recently, her attention has been called towards the positive representation and celebration of people of colour by exploring her Caribbean identity, using her skills in print, embroidery and applique as a way to explore texture and colours.

She designs and facilitates creative workshops suited to a range of abilities for various events. Each workshop is crafted with a beginner in mind and the aim of leaving her class inspired and with confidence to independently use the newly gained creative skill.

She encourages people to unleash creative flow daily to help boost mental wellbeing and happiness.
