Whitney Marie Anderson
Whitney Marie Anderson is a fibre artist and tools maker who lives in San Diego, California. She is multi talented with over 20 years of experience, not just with fibre crafts such as knit and crochet but also with sewing, clay sculpting, painting and embroidery.
Having fine-tuned her clay sculpting skills she creates one-of-a-kind handcrafted stitch markers, which promote representation of Afrocentric features and hairstyles. And, as an artist who also makes crochet dolls, her patterns promote positive representation of people of colour (POC) by showcasing an array of hair textures and skin tones. She occasionally designs knit and crochet garment patterns too.
Pulling inspiration from the world around her, she lovingly incorporates colour, science and nature into her pieces. And to keep the joy in her making, she started blogging to share her creative processes with others.
Her patterns, dolls and stitch markers are available from her website with some patterns also available from her store on Ravelry.
